How to succeed in 8th Ela

Dear future 8th graders,

When you get to 8th grade you will have to do plenty of activities, including in ELA. English Language Arts can be a fun and exciting class if you choose to. However, you will be challenged and expected to do your best in everything you do. For instance, some activities we realized this school year was AR, No Red Ink, and debates.

AR is very important. You must have all your points in and meet your AR goal because it is a big portion of your grade! Also, No Red Ink is a website in which we learn how to properly use commas, punctuation, capitalization, et cetera. No Red Ink is very helpful and will show you examples and different ways to understand a certain topic. Not to mention, debates. Debating is helpful because you learn to work as a team. You also learn to view your opponent’s point of view and debate to see who is more accurate and has trustworthy sources to back-up your statements.

All in all, 8th grade in ELA could be exciting and fun but you must work hard to receive good grades.

How can a scholar work towards meeting his or her AR goal? I’d like to see more advice on how to succeed rather than explaining the activity.
Don’t forget the salutation at the end, such as “sincerely.”
