How to succeed in 8th Ela

Dear future 8th graders,

When you get to 8th grade you will have to do plenty of activities, including in ELA. English Language Arts can be a fun and exciting class if you choose to. However, you will be challenged and expected to do your best in everything you do. For instance, some activities we realized this school year was AR, No Red Ink, and debates.

AR is very important. You must have all your points in and meet your AR goal because it is a big portion of your grade! Also, No Red Ink is a website in which we learn how to properly use commas, punctuation, capitalization, et cetera. No Red Ink is very helpful and will show you examples and different ways to understand a certain topic. Not to mention, debates. Debating is helpful because you learn to work as a team. You also learn to view your opponent’s point of view and debate to see who is more accurate and has trustworthy sources to back-up your statements.

All in all, 8th grade in ELA could be exciting and fun but you must work hard to receive good grades.

My pet gorilla loved to eat fish. You could tell he was there if you were blind. You could determine just by slowly going down is brown fur. One day I flew to New Jersey to reuinte with some friends and visit some family members. I later recied a phone call from my neighbhor telling me that my pet gorilla ate my goldfish. He said he saw everything since he was on his ladder climbing to his roof when this devastating event happened. I was really sad that day. I had raised that goldfish healthy for my cat’s dinner oneday.

100 Word Challenge #18

This lovely family isn’t as lovely as it seems. Lucy wanted to show off her new dress at the mall. Although her parents told her no a thousand times she was audacious to risk everything to go to the mall. Lucy was a stubborn little girl; she didn’t take a ”No” for an answer so she begged until her parents confiscated her phone. Julissa, Lucy’s mom, had an inkling that she was spoiling her daughter too much, and were depicting her family to look bad. This left this family with a lackadaisical day and went without speaking at each other.

100 Word Challenge- week 13

I never really enjoyed going to the zoo. However, my little sister insisted we go. I showed her the smallest animals so she wouldn’t get scared of bigger ones. We later went to see the lions and I noticed that a cage was opened! I was scared, because I didn’t want to put my little sister in danger; plus a lion was wondering out its cage. I quickly carried her and ran to the nearest exit. Little did we know a tiger was wondering aswell, for the tiger was blocking our escape. I felt bad for not warning other people.

Everyone was hurried to enter different stores on Black Friday. I can only picture the store’s inventory with tons of people. What if customer only had a sandwhich with white bread for breakfast. Clad with many cheap offers, people would come out of stores very energetic. There was too many people to even walk so I made a cursory through the stores I was able to walk in. Other people were on their phones until thy had no more battery left, then, they started to shop. I was electrified because all this time they were taking up space for people shopping.

Tomorrow was the day we celebrated my baby sisters birthday. Not to mention, it was bonfire night aswell and the skies would emulate shining and bright colors. We started planning everything out and decided to have it at night so we could all be around the fire and make smores. During the day we took her swimming and at night we sang to her as we watched the fireworks. Minutes later a turbulent event occured. The flames of the fireworks started to hit our backyard! Everything that we had decortated turned black and into flames including the rented white tables.

100 Word Challenge- Week 7

As Elias and I were walking downtown, little did I know that we were passing by the proprietors of the shops surrounding us. I could tell from the prevasive screams; people were scaring others and pranking them. Elias was really scared and started screaming all over the place and I told him to slow down and be more concise on what he wanted to tell me. I’m guessing he was too scared to tell me because as the door slammed, I knew that he had left me all alone. I sat down and patiently waited for him to calm down.

I was walking down the forest, where lamberjacks had recently cut down some trees. This forest was enormous and 500 people lumberjacks went that day before, and only 499 people came out. The news said that anyone was allowed to go inside the forest to look for this man, and whoever found him would get a $2,000 reward. For some reason my friend and I went. I didn’t exepct to see this man, I didn’t even know who he was, I didnt even know about the reward. We passed the lake, and there he was. I ran away and so did my reward.

Brads post-The Feelig of Breaking a Record; ”Hey Brad, I read how you felt great of braking state record in Texas, but unfortunately someone else broke your record. I can relate to this because something similar happened to me. Back in 5th grade, my history teacher asked the class to memories all 50 states of the U.S.A with its capital. I wasn’t the first one to get a 100 on the quiz the following week, but I worked for it and fortunately got the top score in my class. The sad part is the week after a classmate beat my score, and it didn’t feel as great as being the top in class. If you really like what you do, work hard for it and you’ll have great results!”

Conner- My First post; “Hey Connor! I read you like to collect sea shells and fossils as your hobbies. However i’m curious to know if there is a specific place you like to collect sea shells or fossils, or where do you find them the most?”
